Goals & Progress Tracking

Goals & Progress Tracking

Goals are created as part of a treatment plan and tracked individually over time. They give you and the client a clear picture of what is being worked toward and how progress is developing.

Goal Types

Goals are categorised by timeframe:

Type Typical Timeframe Purpose
Short-term 1–4 sessions Immediate, concrete behavioural or awareness targets
Medium-term 1–3 months Pattern-level change goals
Long-term 3–12 months Deeper identity or relationship shifts

Creating Goals

Goals are created when you save a new treatment plan. Enter each goal on a separate line in the Short-term Goals, Medium-term Goals, and Long-term Goals fields. Each line becomes a separate goal record.

Updating Goal Status

From the client record → Treatment Plan tab, each goal is listed with a status indicator:

  • open — Not yet started
  • in_progress — Actively being worked on
  • completed — Achieved

Click the status button next to a goal to update it. Changes are saved immediately.

Adding Goal Progress Notes

For each goal, you can add timestamped progress notes — brief observations about movement toward or away from the goal. These build a longitudinal record over time.

  1. Click Add Progress Note next to a goal
  2. Enter your observation
  3. Save — the note is timestamped and stored

Deleting Goals

Click Delete next to a goal to remove it permanently. Only delete goals that were created in error — for goals the client has abandoned, update the status to completed or add a progress note explaining the change in direction.
